They asked to brand the event with a dramatic, elegant and colorful look suitable for an evening event but still down-to-earth and not too formal. We designed and illustrated this invitation, program and signage package to attract donors to the event while celebrating CAAB’s achievements over the previous year.

WEAVE’s 2008 gala event was focused around a theatrical theme titled “Onstage/Offstage: An Evening in Three Acts.” This event was held at the Woolly Mammoth Theater in DC to feature a unique theatrical performance about domestic violence and highlight the connections between actors and domestic violence survivors, whose “offstage” private lives are often in sharp contrast with their “onstage” public lives. We used WEAVE colors and aimed for a very bold and illustrative look, using active typography and custom illustration to reinforce the connections with theater and looking past the “backstage” curtain toward freedom from violence.

WEAVE needed a brochure to give to teens to raise awareness about identifying relationship violence and how to seek help. Our solution referenced WEAVE’s existing identity but expanded it into a trendier, funkier look for this younger audience. We worked with WEAVE to edit the brochure copy and suggested including an “Is this Love?” quiz on the inside. WEAVE was very happy with the result, but we received the highest praise from the teen girls themselves. Not only did they love the look, they were often found huddled together in the school bathrooms, quizzing each other, discussing possible relationship violence in their lives and brainstorming possible solutions.

The Asia Foundation Women’s Program approached us with a need to reach out to higher-end donors in a coordinated, inspiring way. We brought in Jamie Diliberto, our trusted fundraising consultant and copywriter, and worked closely with The Asia Foundation to create the Lotus Circle, a giving community of high-end donors. While providing strategic consulting on how the Lotus Circle would be positioned and structured, we designed the identity and complete look and feel for the Lotus Circle and crafted brochure and outreach text. We then designed and printed a collection of unique outreach materials, including:

printable mini-letterhead insert for mini-folder
