Women Empowered Against Violence (WEAVE)

Scope

WEAVE’s 2008 gala event was focused around a theatrical theme titled “Onstage/Offstage: An Evening in Three Acts.” This event was held at the Woolly Mammoth Theater in DC to feature a unique theatrical performance about domestic violence and highlight the connections between actors and domestic violence survivors, whose “offstage” private lives are often in sharp contrast with their “onstage” public lives. We used WEAVE colors and aimed for a very bold and illustrative look, using active typography and custom illustration to reinforce the connections with theater and looking past the “backstage” curtain toward freedom from violence.
